Refilling Epson refillable ink cartridges can be tricky. Original catridges from Epson printers have a small memory chip that works like a counter - just like the gas gauge in your car. The micro chip tells your printer how much ink is left in the cartridge.
Unfortunately, like most manufacturers, refilling the Epson ink cartridges does not automatically reset the cartridges memory to full. In order to refill Epson refillable cartridges at home you will have to reset the counter chip in the cartridge through a special device or by using software that that resets Epson cartridges.
